I think I got more done this morning than I did all of last week. It’s definitely the whole “You have to do it NOW or it won’t get done and your schedules will be shot to hell!” kicking in. Mmm. I am so looking forward to having the next week and a half off. Wow. Sooo much time. And I’m not going anywhere! I can stay at home and read and relax and watch movies and putz around the apartment…Mmmmmm.
Merry Christmas! And Happy Hannukah!

It’s Christmas Eve eve and I’ve lost all ability to concentrate on work (which means I actually need to some tomorrow). Someone started playing Christmas music in their computer, so now “Oh Christmas Tree” is wafting down the hall. Not many people are in tomorrow, so there’s a lot of “Have a great vacation!” etc. It’s kind of neat. Very atmospheric. Particularly when you’re eating a candy cane.

One of my favorite parts of Christmas is when news stations and such track Santa’s progress. If you want to follow him online, go here–NORAD tracks his path and has fighter jets escort him so he remains safe. Props to NORAD, too, for making Ringo Starr their Santa tracker in Great Britain.
In other news, my folks arrive from Ohio tonight. Happy birthday, Mom!

It’s kind of strange to be in the office this close to Christmas. It’ll be really strange to be working on Christmas Eve. My folks get in tomorrow. The strangeness of having the family here for Christmas–to celebrate Christmas in my apartment–hasn’t completely hit. It’ll be neat; just different. And I’m psyched for the nice, long break. Whee!
Saturday night I caught a good chunk of the 1940 Pride and Prejudice starring Laurence Olivier and Greer Garson. It was dreadful–completely mucked up the story. I won’t even mention the clothing they wore. Anyway, it makes one appreciate Andrew Davies.
I’m kind of scattered. I know that I have 2½ days of work this week, and I have plenty to occupy that time, but I lack motivation. I’m just happy that I don’t have to tutor this week. It’s nice knowing that tonight I can just go home. Yay!
Current song in my head:
“Let It Snow”
