With love, from Punxsutawney

I was on my way in to work this morning, and one of the stations was airing the Groundhog Day ceremonies live from Punxsutawney. And let me tell you, it was AWESOME. Part of what made it so amusing is how frustrated the newscasters were getting because they needed to give the traffic update, so they kept yelling at the people to get a move on. I thought their heads would explode when the emcee had the crowd in Punxsutawney yelling, "Who do you want to see? WHO DO YOU WANT TO SEE??? How's it spelled? Again! One more time!" Anyway, Phil made his way out and, per usual, predicted 6 more weeks of winter. You know, I wouldn't mind going to this festival, except that it seems people start congregating at 3:30 in the morning to see Phil. I don't know if I can do that.

Anyway, I also began driving to work today instead of taking the Metro. I used to drive in, but gave that up two or three years ago. It's kind of bizarre going back to parking in the same parking garage and everything. I'll miss the extra reading time I got on the Metro, but I'm happy that my car will get to spend its days indoors. Plus, this is cheaper.

Current song in my head:
"I Got You Babe" by Sonny & Cher

Gotta' love the DC public transportation... clean, fast, and now unaffordable. How come Boston, New York, and ALL OF EUROPE seem to be able to figure it out?
