Paul McCartney ROCKS. The concert last night was awesome. He once again had a weird pre-concert offering (this time a DJ doing semi-techno versions of various McCartney songs), but once he got on, he went for over 2 1/2 hours. I was particularly pleased because this time he seemed to play a lot of the lesser-known songs. He did a bunch of very early songs. As in, pre-Beatles. He played a lot of my favorites: "I'll Follow the Sun" and "For No One" and "The Long and Winding Road" and "Band on the Run" (what?). At one point, he and the band also riffed on "Foxy Lady," which was amusing. He ended it the same way he ended it on the last tour, with the "Sgt. Pepper (reprise)" and "The End." Anyway, it was a blast, and it was a blast spending time with my sister. Overall, a very good time. And it's a three-day weekend. Woo!
And I'd be remiss if I didn't send a big "Happy Birthday!" to my boyfriend Brian Roberts. Happy 28th, Brian! Hope the arm is doing well!
Current song in my head:
"I'll Get You" by the Beatles
