You take the good, you take the bad...but mostly good

It was a good news-bad news-good news day for the Orioles today.

Good news: They finally locked Melvin Mora into a 3-year deal. Hurrah! He's a great player and is great with the community. He wanted to stay, the fans wanted him to stay. Seriously, he's so much more than a good player. Though he is a good player. And how cool was it last year at the All-Star Game when Terry Francona put in Mora so the infield was Mora-Tejada-Roberts? Very cool, that's how cool it was.

Bad news: Brian still hasn't been activated from the 15-day DL. His groin is still a little sore (...heh). There was an interview with him on SportsNite and you could tell how frustrated he was by keeping himself out of the game. He's a guy who loves to be out there, and this is totally killing him. I saw him playing in Bowie last night. He was totally adorable, of course. I managed to not proclaim my undying love, even though he was only 10 feet away.

Good news: The O's beat the Nationals, 5-1. I mean, true, the Nats are one of the few teams out there that are worse than the O's, and true, Benson is one of our few, you know, good pitchers. Who knows what will happen tomorrow and Sunday, when RLo and Chen take the mound. But tonight? Was good.
