Random thoughts on a Friday...

I have found the love of my life. It is the Pilot Precise Zing pen. Oh, how I love them. The pens themselves look cool, and they write really well. It makes the morning I spent ordering office supplies worth it, just to have these pens. They're expensive, but they're also safe for airplane use, so that have that going for them. And yes, I do have one in each color.

Rainy days like today usually make me more productive. Actually, oddly enough, Friday is usually my most productive day; I guess the weekend makes me feel the need to get things done NOW. And when it rains, my office feels all nice and cozy. Maybe the convergence of the two is the problem, because I'm just really tired, even though I went to bed early last night. I'm very excited for the weekend. Other than lunch with my grandmother on Sunday, I have no plans and that makes me very happy. I think I had a day free sometime in July...it's been a busy few months. Fun, but busy. So now I just want to go home, put on pajamas, get into bed, and alternate between sleeping, reading, and watching television.

Also making me happy? Last night I didn't turn on the air conditioner. There have been a few nights recently that I could've gotten away without it, but the apartment was retaining heat, and the windows in my apartment are either without screens or painted shut. (Of the six windows in my apartment, two have air conditioners, two are painted shut, and the other two don't have screens. Actually, none of them do. I don't think my building is screen-friendly.) So yay, smaller electric bill!

I wanted to find something that I linked to in my blog ages ago, but since I have no idea when I linked it, I've been skimming through old entries. And now I'm all intrigued by what was going on in late winter/early spring of 2004. I kept making references to being unsure of things and taking chances and upheaval, etc. I have no idea what I was talking about. Bizarre.

I had been thinking about sneaking out a few minutes early today, maybe catch the 4:25 shuttle instead of the 4:35 shuttle. However, it wasn't until 4:15 that the document that was supposed to come in the "early afternoon" came in. That I had to help collate. That I then had to deliver. I was pretty cranky when I wandered, lost, in an unfamiliar part of the building. Fortunately, one of the guys I had to deliver to was talking to a very cute young man who kept smiling at me. That almost made having to wait for the 4:50 shuttle worth it.

The cute boy smiling at me probably would've made it worth it, except that when I got to the Metro, I had to wait a half hour for the bus. So leaving work 15 minutes late made me get home close to 40 minutes later than normal. Gah. Well, it's nice and cozy here, and Colin's being affectionate. There's just something really nice about being inside when the rain is pounding and the wind is gusting.

Current song in my head:
"At the Beginning" from Anastasia
