I heard about River Phoenix’s death on the radio. I thought it was a joke–a Halloween prank, even though I had never heard of any such thing. But it was the only way I could make sense of it.
I heard about Heath Ledger’s death on the radio, too. I was in my car, and WTOP was doing its top of the hour news round-up and it was their top story. And…yeah, I can’t believe it. It seems like such a waste. How can Heath Ledger die when Britney Spears is still wandering around? It’s all such a waste. He was such a great actor.
